Parents and Guardians - Last week the teachers of Hayesville High School sent out progress reports for each student. These reports were to inform you of the academic progress halfway through this first quarter in each of your student's classes. If you have any questions or need further information concerning the progress reports, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at the school by email or phone. Student Council - Any students interested in running for Student Council this year need to email Mrs. Beck at to request a ballot.

Congratulations to our newly elected National Honor Society officers for this year. They are President Allison Thomas, Vice-President Reagan Bunch, Service Maryanne Gottlieb, Character Eli Roberts, Leadership Maggie Plemmons, and Scholarship Madison Crawford. Congratulations to a great group of senior leaders!

Virtual College Fair This Sunday, Sept. 13, HHS students will have a great opportunity to explore their college options. More than 600 colleges and universities will be accessible at to offer live and interactive Zoom sessions and to connect. Students everywhere can register, drop in, and ask questions about colleges. Again, you must contact Mr. Saltz to change from fully remote to one of the cohorts by this Friday, September 11th, at 4 pm. Parents must call each school if you have children in different schools. The Principals cannot be responsible for notifying other schools for you.

FREE ACT prep programs are available to HHS students in grades 10-12. In order to access these materials you will need to visit to log in. Your username is your powerschool ID and the password is gearup. Using the FREE resources will allow you to practice the ACT, learn time management strategies and get help with subject-specific tips and strategies.

Another good ACT review source, this one is is called ASPIRE and it's offered through our NC Extension Agent, Julie Lyvers. Cost is $75. ASPIRE flyer

Our school is committed to constantly improving the safety of our students and staff. In doing so we have trained all of our students to recognize the signs of at-risk behaviors and to utilize the states new anonymous reporting system. Below you will find more information about this program.
