NCSU College of Textiles

-Ten $47,500 Scholarships

-Entering Fields of engineering, chemistry, management, international studies or design

-Centennial Scholar has access to $7,500 enrichment fund

Appalachian State University

-To be considered for scholarships, students should submit an online application for admission, official high school transcript, and official SAT and/or ACT scores prior to November 15, 2007

-You can also check on scholarship opportunities at www.scholarships.appstate.edu

 

Register with the Selective Service-All young men 18 years of age must register. You can register on line at www.sss.gov. You must register within 30 days of your 18th birthday. Failing to register could affect financial aid for colleges. What you need to know about Registering for the Selective Service information is in the guidance office.

 

Gardner-Webb University Fellows Scholarships

-Five full tuition, room and board Presidential Fellows scholarships

-Five full tuition Academic Fellows scholarships

-Two 80% of tuition University Fellows scholarships

-Academic criteria is as follows: a cumulative GPA of 3.6 or higher and at least an 1130 (critical reading and math) on the SAT or a 24 composite on the ACT

NROTC Scholarship

-The naval reserve office training corps scholarship (marine option)

-4 year scholarship valued at $125,000

-The scholarship is accepted at more than 68 competitive and prestigious colleges and universities in the United States

-Minimum requirements include:1000 on the SAT’S (verbal and math) and/or a 22 composite score on the ACT’S; maintain good physical health and eyesight correctable to 20/20

-Upon graduation from college you will be commissioned a second lieutenant in the United State Marine Corps

Hayesville High School's annual Meet the Teachers Open House will be held on Monday, October 1 from 6-8:00 p.m.  Parents are encouraged to attend to meet their student’s teachers and also to attend one of two 30-minute college planning information sessions conducted by the College Foundation of North Carolina.  The college planning sessions will be held at 6:30 and 7:30 in the high school lecture hall and will provide valuable information about college entrance and financial aid.  Parents of students in grades 9-12 may attend either of the sessions and still have time to meet the teachers.
