Wal-Mart Sam Walton Community Scholarship

-Student must not be a Wal-Mart associate, or be the immediate relative (son/daughter)

of a Wal-Mart associate

-Recipients must be able to prove financial need, have taken SAT/ACT test, and have at least a 2.5 GPA

-Applications are obtained, completed and submitted only on-line at www.walmartfoundation.org

-The access code of SWCS must be used to access the application process and the Murphy store number is 0515

-Must be submitted by January 14, 2008

McKelvey Foundation Entrepreneurial Scholarship

-Up to $10,000 per academic year for 4 years

-Additional $2,500 for a summer abroad program

-Must graduate high school in the Spring 2008

-Attend a 4-year college or university, private or public within the 50 states

-Own and operate a genuine business, non-profits are eligible

-Have at least one employee, even if only part time

-Complete application online by January 15, 2008

-Asheville District Office for a period of one week on a volunteer basis

-Must be between the ages of 16 and 18

-One week during the summer

-Applications are due by May 15, 2008
