Smoky Mountain Youth Basketball All-Stars Scholars
-High
School senior attending and will graduate this school year from a High School
within the Smoky Mountain Youth Basketball League Conference
-Must
have played at least one full season of basketball within the Smoky Mountain
Youth Basketball League Conference
-Must be going to 2
or 4 year accredited US college, university, community college, vocational or
technical school as a full time student
-$500 scholarship to
be awarded
-Criteria: strong
moral character, academic achievement and potential success in college and a
proven record of active participation in school activities, community/volunteer
service and/or work experience
-Essay required
-Postmarked by April
22, 2008
-Summer classes for
rising juniors and seniors
-Sessions available
are June 2 - July 1, 2008 and
July 2 – August 1,
2008
-Applications are due
by May 1, 2008
-There are a few applications
available in the guidance office
-Summer 2008 is a
pre-matriculation program for minority graduating seniors with a GPA of 3.2 or
higher who want to major in biology, chemistry or psychology leading to
biomedical science careers
-This is a 6 week all
expense paid program for those participants that qualify
-Application deadline
is April 18, 2008

& T State University Department of Biology Retention Initiative Summer 2008
-This program is for
highly motivated graduating seniors with a GPA of 3.2 or higher who want to
major in biology leading to a graduate, professional or terminal degree
-This is a six-week
all expense paid program for those participants that qualify
-Application deadline
is April 18, 2008
