Ronald McDonald House Charities National Scholarship Program

-Seniors must enroll in and attend a two-year or four-year accredited college or university or vocational/technical school in the academic year following graduation

-Applicants must submit a personal statement, letter of recommendation and a copy of their parent(s) or guardian(s) Form 1040

General Hugh Shelton Leadership Challenge Institute

-For 9^th –11^th grade students

-June 22-27, 2008 at UNC Charlotte, application deadline is June 6, 2008

-July 27- August 1, 2008 at North Carolina State University, application deadline is July 11, 2008

NC State Education Assistance Authority- Golden LEAF Scholars Program

-580 scholarships valued at $3,000

-Must attend one of the 16 campuses of the University of North Carolina

-Priority for scholarships will be given to students from families adversely affected by the decline of the tobacco industry

-Demonstrate financial need

-The deadline for receipt of applications and supporting documents is March 17, 2008

The Lovelight Scholarship offered by Chatuge Regional Hospital and Nursing Home

-One 4-year college scholarship and one technical/vocational school scholarship

-Career in medical field

-Minimum 2.7 GPA

-Career essay/personal profile and two letters of recommendation required

-Application must be received no later than April 1, 2008
