For the underclassmen, the guidance newsletter will help you in finding activities related to your academic and career interests. Morehead-Cain Scholarship at UNC Chapel Hill

Any senior wanting to self-nominate for this scholarship may get information in the guidance office. Mrs. Nicholson has information on the steps you must take to go through this process. Please let Mrs. Nicholson know if you are interested by September 16.

Bridgewater College Open House

-Dates are as follows: October 22, 2011; November 12, 2011; January 28, 2012 and February 11, 2012

UNC-Chapel Hill- The Thomas Wolfe Scholarship

-Artistic merit in writing is the chief criterion of selection

-Applications will be received from September 1, 2011, with the deadline for submission being postmarked by November 1, 2011

UNC Charlotte – Levine Scholars

-Must be nominated by a teacher or guidance counselor

-Successful candidates have a GPA of 3.8-4.00 (unweighted) and score 1800-2400 on the three combined sections of the SAT or 29-36 on the ACT composite

-Students should demonstrate a commitment to community service

-Scholarship includes full tuition, room and board, mandatory fees, and a new laptop computer. Also, four summers of experiences to develop leadership strengths and social awareness

-You must be nominated by October 15, 2011 online and you must have your application in by November 8, 2011 to be considered.
