I have taught for nineteen years at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels. I have taught at Hayesville High School for a total of fourteen years. I currently teach English II, SAT prep, and Honors English III, and the faculty sponsor for Teachers of Tomorrow. I attended Western Carolina University, where I earned a masters degree in teaching English. I received National Board Certification in 2003. In 2005-06 I served as NC West Region Teacher of the Year. I have been married to Todd Leek, who is the assistant principal at Hayesville High School, for twenty one years and have two children, Kylie and Tyler Leek. Kylie is a sophomore at Hayesville High School and Tyler is a seventh grade student at Hayesville Middle School. In our spare time you will usually find us at basketball games or at the softball and baseball fields.
