EXPECTATIONS
- Follow all rules in student
handbook.
- Be well prepared, in your
seat, and ready to begin class when bell rings. This includes having your
pencils sharpened, book bags in place, etc. Always bring books and
materials-if you must leave the room after the bell rings to retrieve
items you will receive a tardy.
- Be courteous to all.
- Absolutely no food or drinks
allowed in classroom. If I see it, you will throw it away.
CONSEQUENCES OF NOT FOLLOWING
RULES AND PROCEDURES
- Verbal warning.
- Break detention.
- Assignment and detention.
- Office referral.
- Certain behaviors
automatically referred to office immediately.
Grades:
- Grading is based on scores of
unit tests (50%-includes essays unless notified otherwise), quizzes
(20%-includes homework), vocabulary (10%), and projects (20%). No extra
credit is offered as it is unnecessary if assigned work is completed.
- The due date for work will be
clearly stated. Late work will be accepted only as a result of an absence;
however, this excludes assignments that the student was already
aware existed. Absolutely no projects will be accepted late.
- Major test dates will be set
several days ahead of time; therefore, a student should be ready to take
the test the day it is given if he/she is present. Students absent on test
day may make up the test as stated in the student handbook, but it is
the student’s responsibility to find out and arrange to make up the work
within the allotted time frame. Under normal conditions students
absent the day before the test who are present the day of the test will be
required to take the test as the student will have missed no new concepts.
- Help is available before or
after school, but please make an appointment first.
Tardies/Absences:
The handbook is rigidly followed so all are treated fairly.
