Lee Beal
Hello and welcome to my web page! I began my career in the business world. After graduating from Western Carolina University in 1990, I began working for Cherokee County Social Services. From there I worked at REACH, Inc. as the Women’s Resource Center Director and then went on to serve as the Director for Tri-County 2000 Community Health Project, Inc., a non-profit health consortium. Although I loved each of my previous positions (and learned a lot about leadership), I felt as though I was serving the community in a retroactive manner. This is how I got interested in Education. I see Education as an opportunity for adults to have a positive, daily influence on the lives of young people proactively. I have always considered myself a leader and believe that I do make a difference in the lives of the young people I serve at Hayesville High School. In 2001, I accepted a position at Hayesville High School as the Transition Coordinator and VoCATs Coordinator. These positions have allowed me to work in both Exceptional Children’s Education and Career-Technical Education—the best of both worlds in my opinion. Each day I have the opportunity to work with teachers, administrators and students. I love my job! Over the years, my roles have changed to accommodate the needs of the school and I have served in many capacities. Never a dull moment! Here are a few facts about me. I am a dedicated and hardworking person. When I commit to something, I always give 110%. Since coming on board with HHS, I have earned my teaching certificate in Career-Technical Education, a Masters Degree in Supervision and Administration and an EdS Degree in Curriculum and Supervision. Each graduate degree was earned through Lincoln Memorial University. I did all this with the support of my husband, Ken, while raising our two amazing sons, Adam and Reid. I am passionate about my faith, my family and my work! My personal motto is “balance is the secret to life”.
