Kimberly Brown

Hi, I am Kimberly Brown, and I am the new teacher for the Health Occupations Education program here at Hayesville High School.  This is my first year teaching in a public school setting, and I have big shoes to fill!  I am new to teaching, but not new to healthcare. I received my BSN from Western Carolina University. I am a Registered Nurse, certified in Inpatient Obstetrics.  I have worked in the medical field for over 16 years in the areas of Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Nursery, Pediatrics, Gynecology, Medical/Surgical, Staff Development, and Management. I have worked locally in Franklin at Angel Medical Center, in Murphy at Murphy Medical Center and have been employed in Atlanta, GA at Northside Hospital for the past nine years.  I continue to work there some weekends to keep myself current in the acute care setting.

I graduated from Hayesville High School in 1988.  I am a native of Clay County.  It has been great to return home to this school and have an opportunity to participate in the education of our children here in Hayesville.  My husband, Randy, and I have five children: Brendon, Devon, Ethan, Elyssa, and Kayla.  So, I guess you could say we have a vested interest in the quality of the educational system!  I spend most of my free time on the road to practices, games, and dance!

I currently teach the Health Occupations courses and really enjoy exposing my students to the world of healthcare.  Healthcare is one of the fastest growing fields of employment and is full of opportunities.  I feel this program is essential in our community and we are fortunate to be able to give these students skills and certifications that make them employable immediately upon, if not before, graduation. I sponsor H.O.S.A....Health Occupation Students of America.

If you have any questions about our program or how it could benefit your son/daughter, please feel free to contact me at: (828) 389-6532. Thanks for visiting our website!
