Welcome to Honors English II
Fall Semester 2005
Honors English II has a focus on world literature and writing. You will be reading a variety of literature including novels, dramas, short stories, and poetry. You will also learn a variety of effective writing techniques and will complete a writing keepsake that will include poetry, journals, oral histories, narrative essays, expository essays, persuasive essays, descriptive essays, and a mini-research paper. The Honors class will be required to turn in a summer reading portfolio on the first Monday of spring semester and will be required to complete several activities to demonstrate comprehension of the readings. The honors class will also have a comprehensive final exam that will include questions concerning summer reading. (Hint: Don’t throw away summer reading portfolio!)
